Sejong Hotel

Sejong Hotel Myeongdong is a 333-rooms luxury hotel located in the center of Myeongdng, the hub of shopping, business and sightseeing and has a beautiful view overlooking the Namsan Mountain and the downtown of Seoul City. The name of this hotel is named after King Sejong, the fourth king of the Joseon-dynasty in Korea who was well-known for his spirit and high moral excellence. The hotel was established on 20th of December 1966 and it was awarded a Five Star class. Let me share with you the pros and cons that Sejong Hotel Myeongdong has to offer to you.

 

Pros

 

  • The hotel is located at the heart of Myeongdong where you can shop non-stop and enjoy different types of dining options and entertainment without having to worry about your transportation back to the hotel
  • The hotel is only located 1 hour away from Incheon International Airport
  • It is only 5-minutes’ walk away from Namdaemun market and Dongdaemun market
  • There are a lot of famous places of interest for international visitors to visit nearby the hotel and they include Lotte Department Store, Shinsegae Department Store, Migliore, Myeongdong Theater, NANTA Theater, Cheonggyecheon Stream, Traditional Korean Hanok Village, Gyeongbokugung Palace, Deoksugung Palace, Insa-dong Bukchon Hanok Village and the others
  • The hotel is located a few minutes away from the famous street market where you can experience different delicious and tasteful Korean street food
  • It is just located beside the subway station by being directly connected to Line 4 Myeongdong Station Exit 10

Cons

 

  • While the interior of the hotel and the rooms are clean and spotless, the decor and furnishing look a little bit dated hence some refurbishing and touch-up is needed
  • Some hotel guests experienced poor customer service from the front desk service staffs
  • As the air-conditioning system is centralized, the temperature will be kept at 26 Celsius and you will not be able to adjust the temperature
  • Certain rooms have neither the beautiful view of Namsan Mountain nor the downtown of Seoul City
  • There are very few rooms with King-size and Queen-size beds so couples may have to sleep on different beds
  • The price of the room per night is costly and overpriced according to some of the guests
  • Some guests complained that the rooms are not clean, dusty and smelled mushy
